It is very easy to setup simply remove the protective film on the solar panel and submerge completely for a couple of seconds to remove any air in the pump, then let it charge in the water for half an hour before switching on. When first switching on let the solar garden fountain work without any spray heads attached for a few seconds to let any remaining air be released out of the, otherwise you might not get a high water flow coming out.

To protect the pump there is a built-in water level monitoring system, in addition it is also advisable to clean the pump regularly and change the water frequently to avoid the solar powered fountain pump getting clogged with debris. 

As the solar powered water fountain is driven directly by the sunlight, ensure that it is in a location that gets bright sunlight and is not shaded or in shadow. If the solar panel is in any shade or shadow then the performance of the pump  will be reduced and the solar water pump will not be able to work continuously, it will keep starting automatically as the battery charges until there is enough sunlight to enable the continuous flow.
